I didn’t think much of it at the time. It was just a snapshot, a way to remember what I had on repeat. But something stuck. The next month, I made another one. Then another. And before I knew it, it had become a ritual.
Today, I’m proud (and a little amazed) to say: I’ve officially completed the full listing of every single monthly playlist from August 2016 all the way through May 2025. That’s 105 playlists. Nine years of listening. A sonic diary of nearly a decade.
Each playlist is its own little time capsule. Some months lean heavily into rainy-day introspection; others are all killer, no filler—bursting with bangers. There are deep dives into post-punk and new wave, echoes of the music that shaped my youth (yes, The Smiths, The Teardrop Explodes, Talk Talk), and later phases dominated by dusty Americana, minimal electronica, or whatever sound happened to catch my ear that month.
It’s been a personal project from the beginning—a way to keep track of where my ears (and my head) have been. But finishing the full archive feels like the right time to finally share it all.
So, whether you’re:
- the kind of person who loves falling down musical rabbit holes,
- curious about how someone’s taste shifts and loops over the years,
- or just looking for a new favorite track from any given month between 2016 and now…
…I invite you in! The playlists are now live and linked.
This project has taught me a lot—not just about music, but about patterns, memory, and how songs shape our seasons. Maybe it’ll inspire you to start your own musical timeline. Or maybe you’ll just hit play and vibe. Either way, I’m glad it’s out there now.
Thanks for listening.
