After my first vinyl release, When Did I Get Old? (thanks to Elastic Stage), I’m thrilled to announce a brand new record — Soy Un Lobo — a heartfelt tribute to one of my all-time favorites, Los Lobos.
The Sunday Soundtrack That Started It All
Growing up, Sundays had their own rhythm in our home — the sound of Latin American music filling the air while my parents went about their weekend routines. My dad had an impressive record collection, and the turntable spun salsa, bolero, and cumbia like it was the heartbeat of the house.
I didn’t always know what those rhythms were called, but I knew how they felt. Warm. Alive. Emotional. Those sounds became part of who I am.
So when I first heard Los Lobos in the early 1980s — their brilliant mix of Mexican roots, Americana, rock, and blues — it hit me like a bolt of lightning.
It was familiar yet new, traditional yet wild.
And I was hooked from the very first chord.
A Tribute, Not a Copy
Decades later, I finally have the chance to honor “the Wolves.”
Not by trying to copy them — who could? — but by celebrating the spirit of what they created: the fusion, the storytelling, the joy.
Soy Un Lobo (“I am a wolf”) is my way of saying thank you to a band that shaped my musical journey and, in many ways, my sense of self.
This isn’t about imitation; it’s about connection — between cultures, between decades, between a childhood soundscape and today’s creative pulse.
Available Soon — With a Little Something Extra
Yes, you’ll be able to stream Soy Un Lobo on Spotify and other platforms.
But if you’re like me and love the feel of vinyl, the smell of the sleeve, and that ritual of dropping the needle — the record version includes a bonus track you won’t find anywhere else.
It’s almost Christmas… maybe time to treat yourself — or someone you love — to a record that bridges generations and grooves.

Full Circle
From those sunlit Sundays of my childhood to this moment — this record feels like a full circle.
A tribute not only to Los Lobos, but to the music that raised me, moved me, and never stopped echoing in everything I create.
Soy Un Lobo. And proud of it.
