Following the Threads Between Albums

Every time I work on an album, I end up with a lot of music—more than I can use.

Different versions of songs, sketches, experiments, and sometimes full tracks that just don’t quite fit. The process behind BITTERSWEETS was no exception.

For BITTERSWEETS, I wanted to put together a collection of songs that shared a certain sound, a particular vibe—a consistent mood. I was looking for a kind of emotional and sonic cohesion, something that tied the songs together both musically and lyrically. It’s not a concept album, not really, but I did want there to be a red thread running through the whole thing. And I believe I succeeded in that.

But inevitably, some songs—even good songs—end up on the outside looking in. They didn’t make it onto BITTERSWEETS, not because they weren’t strong, but because they didn’t quite belong to that world. When I wrapped up the album, I found myself sitting on a handful of these outliers. And the more I listened to them, the more I realized: they had their own thing going. They didn’t belong on BITTERSWEETS, but they did belong together.

So I started working on them again, slowly building something new. A new mood started to emerge—similar in spirit perhaps, but different in tone and texture. The lyrics took on a slightly different shape. The vibe was more reflective, more spacious somehow. And just like that, a new project began to take form.

That project is called WHERE THE TIME SLIPS SLOW.

It’s still in the works. There’s no official release date just yet—there’s still a lot of work to be done. But it’s coming. And I’m excited about where it’s heading. These songs are a continuation and a departure at the same time, and I can’t wait to share them with you.

Stay tuned.
